Dr. Laurie Goldman M.D.

Dr. Goldman began her private practice in 1999. She is rooted in an approach that is always person-centered and incorporates alternative medicine and therapies…

Compassionate, thoughtful and individualistic, Laurie Goldman works with patients not only to render accurate diagnosis and treat the symptoms that challenge their well-being, but also to provide a supportive, positive and change-oriented experience that promotes growth and holistic health.

A graduate of Wesleyan University (BA) and the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine (MD), Dr. Goldman completed her internship and psychiatry residency at Rush University in 1994. She honed her skills providing psychiatric care in the most challenging of treatment milieus, first at Chicago Health Outreach (with homeless clients) and Madden State Hospital and finally at Cook County Jail. Her identification of the need for more extensive psychiatric intervention at Cook County Jail became the basis for a joint research study with the University of Chicago’s Chapin Hall Center for Children, Cook County’s Cermak Health Services and Isaac Ray Center/Rush University that has been published in several scholarly journals.

Dr. Goldman’s practice evolved with experience and as she started to learn functional medicine. Her traditional practice became more integrative. She developed Clear Path Wellness to help people begin and continue their journeys to health using a functional medicine framework. Dr. Goldman is an Institute For Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner (IFMCP) in addition to being certified in the Bredesen Protocol (Reversing Cognitive Decline). She also has studied advanced nutrient treatments with Dr. Willam Walsh.  And she is a full founding member of ISEAI.org. Dr. Goldman welcomes collaboration with primary care physicians, specialists, psychotherapists, advanced practice nurses, naturopaths, nutritionists and other clinicians.

Health Coach

Jen never had any health or weight issues, at all, until she turned 40. Then, what felt like overnight, everything changed. Her weight skyrocketed and energy plummeted without making any changes at all in lifestyle or eating. She developed exercise induced asthma and could no longer sleep through the night. She cut calories and increased the intensity of my workouts to no avail. She reached out to her doctors only to hear “ that’s just what happens when you age; try working a little harder” and “that’s just hormones.” The general opinion was “that’s completely normal”. Nothing about it felt normal to her.

Registered Dietitian

Megan was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, which is where she resides currently. Most of her childhood she was surrounded by health and fitness where she grew to love nearly all things outdoors and sports. Megan took her talents as far as she could to compete as a Division I athlete at Bradley University. It was there that she came across her career path – Nutrition and Wellness. Megan graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics in 2010. She moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to complete a Dietetic Internship before she could sit to take the Licensed Registered Dietitian Exam. Upon passing the exam, she started her professional career at Life Time, The Healthy Way of Life Company.

Personal Trainer

Ilysha has had a fascination with health and fitness for as long as she can remember. She was involved with competitive figure skating and dance from the age of 5, and it was always clear to her the impact that nutrition played in allowing the body to perform at optimal levels. She took her passion for dance and nutrition with her to the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, where she pursued a major in dietetics/food science and joined their dance team. It was also in college that she started to struggle with sleep, anxiety, bloating, and stomach pain. After going through a slew of doctors without finding answers, she found herself contacting a functional medicine physician. She learned of issues with her adrenals and gut and received the answers she was looking for. She healed her body through a hypoallergenic whole foods diet and high-quality supplementation plan. This experience opened her mind and helped dictate the career path that she wanted to pursue. After finishing her undergraduate degree, dietetic internship, and finally passing the dietetic licensure examination, she started her journey at Lifetime Fitness as a Registered Dietitian and a Certified Personal Training. As of December 2017, she is beyond happy to have also joined Dr. Laurie Goldman and the Clear Path Wellness team!
