Hi, I want you to meet one of my friends, Shannon VanderZwaag, the founder of Love Laugh Lead.

Shannon VanderZwaag is a 27-year military veteran who was diagnosed with Complex Post Traumatic Syndrome. She has served as an EMT in both Afghanistan and at home. Her primary role in the hospital setting was as an intensive care technician as well as primary on the code blue team. As her military career has progressed she was a training instructor, she then worked as an employee relations consultant. Currently, she is the healthcare manager for a team of 140 personnel whose primary role is performing as the ground crew to aircrews within the military medical air evacuation team.

Shannon is a single mother to 4 beautiful daughters and a grandmother of two.

In 2015 Shannon took her daughter to move into college, she walked into the room to overhear a conversation her daughter was having with her friend. Her daughter stated I have not had a mom since we moved to California. It was then that she felt a bit disconnected from herself and her life but that was not enough for her to seek help.

The following year she decided to file for divorce.

Fast forward to the Fall of 2018 she then became repeatedly ill with medical issues, then she became anxious and depressed. This led her to seek medical/mental health treatment. Initially, she was provided medications to help her sleep and with depression but she felt more numb and more disconnected.

This inspired her to research and learn about the many other options for healing. She is sharing the tools and resources that have helped her reconnect to herself and her family. She highly encourages each person that may feel disconnected from themselves or those around you to join this journey of exploration and healing. Healing is a very personal journey and this is an offering to listen, feel and see if any of the resources in this offering resonate with you.

Welcome to the first step into your healing journey.

That’s why I was thrilled when Shannon told me she is hosting a summit all about this topic. It’s called ‘Conquering the Battle Within’ and I’m one of more than 15 experts taking part in this interview series.
